Today, after reading this article you are gonna say that laptop gaming is fun 🙂
While most people turn to consoles for their gaming needs, others prefer to use PC rigs instead. It’s a common fact that the hardware inside a desktop computer can get upgraded with ease.
What few people seem to do is use laptops to play computer games. They feel that such devices aren’t powerful enough or lack upgrade options. But, nothing could get further from the truth! If you’ve got a laptop, you can turn it into a mobile game station. Take a look at these clever hacks to find out how:

It’s no secret that most modern computer games need at least 8GB RAM to run well. If your laptop is no older than five years old, you could potentially upgrade it to 16GB RAM.
The price of RAM has dropped a lot, and one can pick up a 16GB upgrade quite cheap. You can also sell your existing RAM to get some cash back towards your upgrade.
Hard drives are cheap mechanical storage devices, but they are getting replaced by SSDs. You can think of an SSD as a large-capacity flash drive. Except that it gets fitted internally to your laptop rather than getting used via a USB port.
As with RAM, the price of solid-state drives is cheaper than ever these days. Consider going for a 250GB or 500GB capacity drive. You can get larger ones, but you’ll need to spend more money.
Why upgrade to an SSD, I hear you ask? The answer is simple: performance. To give you a comparison, a typical boot time on a Windows 10 laptop with a hard drive is around 40 seconds. With an SSD, that drops down to around five or ten seconds!
On some laptops, the CPU isn’t soldered onto the motherboard. That means you can swap it for another processor compatible with your chipset.
I wouldn’t recommend overclocking your new CPU as your laptop will overheat. Still, if you get a faster processor, you’ll notice significant improvements without overclocking.
Thanks to the cloud, it’s now possible to play a plethora of games online. That often negates the need for a high-spec computer. If you’ve got quite an old laptop, I recommend considering this strategy.
What kind of games can you play online? Well, there are loads to check out on Steam. And if you enjoy casino games, take a look at sites like www.mariacasino.co.uk. There is more choice than you might think!
If you’d rather play offline games, that’s still possible – even if your laptop is as slow as a snail! You might not know it, but many gamers use their laptops to connect to gaming rigs.
If you’re away from home, you could create a VPN connection to your PC. Doing so will allow you to securely and remotely control your computer from afar. Take a look at www.expressvpn.com to learn more about VPN connections.
I hope the above hacks have given you some inspiration for your laptop. Good luck!
